The 5 Pillar Marketing Guide

Using Track It!

Track It! is track-to-sale software that allows you to analyze your conversions and ROI (Return On Investment) if you are doing PPC. The ROI formula would be Sales/Cost=ROI. A positive number means you are making money. Negative means you are losing.

Use Track It! to set up a link to redirect to any SiteSell landing page and business-specific page that you wish. It will track...

  • unique visitors
  • repeat visitors and
  • sales for each individual Track It! link. (Yes, it tracks each link right to the sale!)

So for example, let's say you have a link to the Affiliate Masters Course on a particular page on your site, and you want to see how well it performs.

Rather than just sending people to the Affiliate Masters Course using your RR URL, you set up a Track It! link to evaluate how effective that link is on that one page. This way you can really pinpoint your conversion ratio and know which links work the best.

In the 5P Club, select "Track It!" from the QUICK JUMP menu or from the left NavBar. Now you can name your campaign, give it a description and select which landing page (from over 55 choices) you want to create a link to. Track It! will then generate a link for your copy and paste on your site.

The Basics

If you can break-even on a campaign, you have a winner because you will ultimately be profitable due to multiple sales and renewals (on average). "Break-even" means that a $75 SBI! commission x number of tracked sales = amount you are spending at Google.

If you are losing money, pause a campaign after investing approximately $50 - $75 (250-1000 visitors, depending on the Cost Per Click). Then follow your ROI via Track It! right here.

Remember to return every week. Why?

An SBI! sale can take months to occur. Let's say you spend $75 to generate 1,000 visitors over a period of 2 weeks, but you have no sales. Pause (suspend) the campaign. Then track sales.

If you have 1 sale over the next two months, you are at break-even (actually better, due to renewals and multiple sales). Good! Two sales ($150 plus future revenues)? Congratulations! You've found a campaign that turns a dollar into more than two, since one of those two customers is almost certainly either going to renew or buy additional SBI! orders or become a second tier affiliate.

Other Uses

Beside AdWords, you can also create campaigns to track the success of other marketing techniques...

  • various positions on a Web page throughout a Web site (ex., top, bottom)
  • location on a specific Web page
  • paid promotions on different web sites
  • other pay-per-click search engines
  • newsletter articles
  • e-zine ads
  • sig file
  • any other kind of advertising or promotion.

Remember... to measure the full value of any campaign, give it at least two months to generate 80% of the likely sales it will see. Some sales will even occur as late as 6-12 months later. When that happens, you will see it in the Track It! report.

4 Ways You Can Put This Tool To Work

1) PPC (Pay Per Click) Advertising

This type of advertising is probably the most common way affiliates use Track It!. If you advertise with sites like Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing etc., you can keep track of your ROI in practically real time.

PPC and Site Build It! are a great match. Here's why...

  • The $75 commission gives a great opportunity to get a positive ROI.
  • Lifetime cookies means the click you purchase has plenty of time to "fertilize" into a sale.
  • The term, "lifetime customers," means in the long run that clicks could have a nice "lifetime value."
  • Having a second tier team means that each click could result in residual revenue from a new team member, too.
  • There are so many great landing pages to choose from that you can create a different PPC campaign for each one. This means you can use a different set of keywords for each landing page... a great advantage for the savvy PPC marketer.

For PPC advertising, a tool like Track It! is an absolute must. Track It!'s statistics are more "real time" and accurate than even Google's. After all, you are spending money! You need to know your ROI quickly and accurately.

Keep this in mind...
If you can break-even on a campaign, you have a winner because you will ultimately be profitable due to multiple sales and renewals (on average). "Break-even" means that your commissions equal the amount you are spending at Google. Of course, a positive ROI is always better.

And here's a great way to use Track It! to insure a positive ROI...

Let's say that you've been running your campaign for awhile. You've spent $50, but no sales to show for it. This is a good time to "pause" your campaign at Google Ads.

Game over? Not at all. Track It! tracks forever. And people can take months to make a decision. So...

Suppose Track It! reveals two sales, two months later. Now that you have a positive ROI, it's time to start that Google program back up again. It just became a winner!

Don't Be Too Trigger-Happy With The Delete Button
Since it may take up to months to convert, don't be too quick to use the Delete button. Once you delete a campaign, it's gone forever. It would be a shame to miss a campaign that would have been a winner.

Remember to keep a close eye on your ROI statistics with PPC advertising because you can spend a lot of money through trial and error. Drop the losing programs. Keep the winners -- they are money machines (ex., $1 of advertising becomes $2 of commissions, over and over).

What do you do if you want to change your campaign and try a new batch of keywords or new ad copy, say at the beginning of the month? Just click Reset. Now your stats will go back to zero. Remember to copy your current numbers into a spreadsheet so you can create a history of your campaign.

PPC and Track It!. A powerful combination. But this is definitely a technique for the more savvy Internet marketer.

2) Your Web Site Articles

By constantly evaluating your different SBI!-PREselling articles, you can tweak the content until you see positive conversions. Experiment a bit. Try different positioning, different copy, and putting the content on different pages to see what happens.

Through this eye-opening experience, you might see that some articles convert a lot better than you would have imagined and others have tanked when you thought they would perform well.

Key point? Testing is the key to successful online marketing and Track It! is a testing monster!

A very interesting find that came from former Affiliate Manager Lisa Irby's experimentation was that she discovered results.sitesell.com converts better than any of the other special SiteSell landing pages for her. Track It! provided powerful proof for this that she didn't see elsewhere...

Of course, use any landing page in-context. Make it "fit" your article. And more importantly...

Experiment and send your visitors to the many SiteSell landing pages. Several different types of referrals, and several different articles, create multiple exposures. By using Track It!, you may just find another gem like Lisa found.

3) Article Submission Sites

Most article submission sites like ezinearticles.com and articlecity.com allow you to add a signature line ("sig file") that includes a hyperlinked address to your Web site(s). This is a solid marketing strategy that every online marketer should use as we point out on this page.

Bottom line? Whenever you compose a sig file for an article, which links to SiteSell, set up a Track It! URL to test its effectiveness. You can also do this for all the e-mails you send.

4) Newsletters/E-zines

Newsletters can be powerful income generators if you know your audience and you offer valuable information.

Let's say you dedicate an entire newsletter issue to a particular PREselling effort. Now track that article and see how well it does.

Allan Gardyne is a great example of writing special newsletters dedicated to one product. Allan devoted an entire newsletter to Choose It! when it was released. You can view his newsletter here. When he was done, he turned that into an article on his Web site so it will continue to drive sales.

This is an ideal scenario for Track It!. It's also a great way to use its Reset button. Once your newsletter has run its course and you can see the Conversion Rate, reset it and see how it does as an article on your site. Great information to have!

Also use Track It! in any advertising you do or in other Webmasters' newsletters. You always want to make sure you're getting the bang for your buck when you pay for advertising.

Conclusion

Testing is the key to online success! Knowing the specifics of how your links are working makes solid business sense for any online marketer.

Track It! lets you track almost every SiteSell landing page through to the sale. Use it and you will have your SiteSell promotions under your control and a positive ROI is just a click away.
