The ability to deliver a timely, high-quality newsletter (also known as an "e-zine") plays a vital role in building an online business. Regular contact with subscribers...

1) Prevents the all too familiar “out of site, out of mind" scenario. Why work so hard to get visitors to your site, and then let them just “up and leave?"

2) Establishes and demonstrates credibility via high quality articles.

3) Fosters a sense of community.

4) Lets subscribers know that there’s a real person behind the Web site... someone who isn’t going anywhere. S/he is right there, only an e-mail away, ready to help out at a moment’s notice.

A high level of trust is unlikely to be established on an initial visit to a Web site, no matter how good that site is. It will require several repeat, credibility-building exposures before the prospective customer is ready to order.

And that’s the job of a quality newsletter!

In your e-zine, discuss new developments, what’s happening on the Net, tips, good books or articles, reviews about SBI!... whatever is relevant or of interest to your target group. Provide a link to your RR URL in a natural, in-context manner.

It’s important to write several articles. Write them from different angles. Focus upon a new benefit each time. Otherwise, your target group stops responding. They think “same-old, same-old" and skip on by.

Delete. Unsubscribe. Ugh.

Build a relationship with your readership. Establish credibility and trust by consistently offering high-value information that reflects their needs and desires. In your subscriber’s mind, a solid e-zine or newsletter is a positive reflection on your product or service and/or the merchant that you represent.
