The 5 Pillar Marketing Guide

Google AdWords Strategies

Google AdWords is a pay-per-click system that allows you to drive highly targeted traffic to a site of your choice by bidding on certain keyword phrases.

You can see Google AdWords in action by going to Google.com and typing in almost any phrase.  The ads that appear on the right side of the page are AdWords ads that are paid for by various Webmasters and affiliates.

This method can be a very effective way of driving targeted traffic to PREsell SBI!, but it's very important you follow the guidelines below. Otherwise, AdWords can drain your cash.

AdWords Advertising Guidelines

1. Avoid Bidding on Generic Keywords

Generic keywords like "employment", "money", "home business", "home employment", and "online business" are all too competitive and will be very expensive to bid on.  Stay away from these unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money.

2. Scope Out The Niches

A niche is a highly specialized topic that often does not have as much competition as some of the more generic terms mentioned above.

If you're an SBI! owner, you have an added advantage because you can use Brainstorm It! to search for less competitive keywords to bid on.

Also, browse the SiteSell Promotion Center and review all the highly targeted SiteSell sales sites such as...

http://infopublishing.sitesell.com
http://traffic-test.sitesell.com
http://realestate.sitesell.com
http://egoods.sitesell.com

Review the various landing pages to come up with some less competitive keyword phrases that you could bid on to promote SBI!.  For a complete listing of all the SiteSell sites, see the SiteSell Promotion Center.

You may prefer to send visitors directly to your PREselling page before you send them to one of the SiteSell.com landing pages.

This is perfectly fine.  Just realize that if you send the visitor to your site first, that person now has many more options and has to click a second time before reaching SiteSell.com.

This may greatly reduce your number of visitors, clicks and sales.  That is why this article mainly focuses on sending traffic directly to SiteSell.com from your AdWords campaign.

3. Use Track It!

In order to make sure you're getting a return on your investment (ROI), it's a must that you track each and every campaign you run on AdWords.  Track It! is super easy to use and you will be able to tell if your campaign is returning a profit.

If it's not profitable...

It's time to change up your copy or drop the ad altogether.

Remember, you are paying for every click your ad receives so as soon as you recognize your campaign is costing you more than it's earning, it's time to either update the copy or drop it.

For more info on using Track It!, see this article.

3. Experiment Like Crazy

One of the big keys to success with AdWords is finding the right combination that gives you that ROI.  You may find that you have to experiment quite a bit before you arrive at that winning ad.

That's OK.  It's much better to carefully monitor your ads and drop the ones that aren't working than to ignore the results and lose your hard-earned money.

4. Review the Google AdWords Affiliate Policy

Once you join the AdWords program, be sure you read Google's Affiliate Policy.  This will give you specific instructions on what you can and cannot do when advertising with AdWords.

For example, Google only allows one ad for affiliates and parent companies sharing the same URL per search query.

So if one affiliate is advertising http://passion.sitesell.com for the keyword phrase "website business" then you would not be able to use that same RR URL for that keyword phrase.

This is all the more reason you should work the niches and think creatively.  Try to avoid other affiliates and find your own cozy advertising space.

The bottom line...

Think different to avoid the competition.

It's cheaper and highly targeted.

Find non-competitive sub-niches and buy your ads cheaper while finding a neat little spot all to yourself!
